Mount Usher Gardens

Mount Usher gardens measure 20 acres. The Vartry River flows through it, passing over weirs and under several bridges, from where different views of the gardens can be enjoyed.

In early March-April, thousands of bulbs are flowering in the meadows, as well as a variety of wild flowers. March, April, May are the best months for admiring Rhododendron, Azaleas, Camellias and Magnolias of all sizes and colours.

The presense of majestic, mature trees, among these Eucalyptus, Nothofagus, Oaks and Ecryphia are always impressive, especially when their glorious autumn colours begin to show. Mount Usher Gardens, with it's collection of approx. 5,000 different species of rare plants and trees, fascinates the professional plantsman, as well as nature-lovers, who appreciate it's informal design and atmosphere of peaces.
