The Burren In Bloom !

From late April onwards witness the astonishing array of flowering plants to be found growing in the Burren. For centuries botanists have studied the area and have been amazed at the unique mixture of up to 700 different species of plants, conifers and ferns. Be among the truly lucky ones and join Shane Connolly the very experienced local guide, on a walking adventure where you will see the glorious Gentians, Mountain Avens, Violets, Orchids and a myriad of floral delights.

Shane, a local farmer, excels in combining botanical knowledge, archaeological knowledge and local lore to give a complete understanding of this special region. Afterwards, visit the Burren Perfumery where the floral theme continues and you may be tempted to purchase some scented potion to ease the blisters on your feet. They have a delightful tearoom where you may even be enticed to try some herbal tea... From 30th April (for the month of May) The Burren In Bloom Festival gets underway in the village of Ballyvaughan with guided walks, lectures on the local area, music and dancing. If you have had enough exertion return to the pampering environment of Gregans Castle Hotel where, amidst their own magical garden setting you can enjoy nights of tranquil indulgence and culinary treats.
