From late April onwards witness the astonishing array of flowering plants to be found growing in the Burren. For centuries botanists have studied the area and have been amazed at the unique mixture of up to 700 different species of plants, conifers and ferns. From 30th April (for the month of May) The Burren In Bloom Festival gets underway in the village of Ballyvaughan with guided walks, lectures on the local area, music and dancing.
