Lisselan Gardens "The rockery is the glory of this garden. It is one of the most beautiful features in the county, breathtaking and definitely worth travelling to see."
Shirley Lanigan, O'Brien Guide to Irish Gardens
Lisselan Gardens was designed in the 1800s and laid out in Robinsonian style, enhancing the natural features and contours provided by the valley and the river Argideen flowing throughout.
This magnificent garden provides visitors with magnificent seasonal colours. 12ha of gardens and woodlands with a variety of plants, trees, shrubs and flowers that flourish in our mild Gulf Stream enhanced climate. Many unusual plants and shrubs not geographically associated with this region can be seen in our gardens. A series of flagstone pathways and rustic bridges add ambience and character to the gardens and the sound of the river flowing throughout the gardens leave visitors with a sense of calmness and peacefullness.
The rockery, rhododendron garden, water garden, azalea garden, shrubbery and fuchsia garden are some of the features, which can be seen in Lisselan Gardens.
