The Georgian House & Garden The Georgian House is one of a terrace of six houses built c.1838 by the Pery Square Tontine Company. This terrace is widely regarded as being the best example of late Georgian Architecture in Limerick and probably in Ireland. No.2 Pery Square has been fully restored with all its original architectural features expertly reinstated in precise detail. The décor and furnishings are also of the Georgian era. Of particular note are the original marbled walls in the hall and up through the building. The mezzanine floor of three rooms in the basement is also a unique feature for a house of this size. The Town House Garden is an exact recreation of the original garden. For all visitors to Limerick and for all historic house enthusiasts a visit to No.2 Pery Square is a must. The recent acquisition of the Carrol Collection of military memorabilia relating to the Peninsula Wars, the Boar Wars and both world wars is a very significant recent addition to the remarkable venue. | Situated | In Limerick City Centre | | Open | All Year: Monday to Friday, 10.00 to 16.30 (Last Admission 16.30) Weekend groups only by appointment | | Admission | Adults €5.00; Children €3.00; Family €12.00 | | Facilities | Exhibitions: 'The Carrol Collection' & 'The Angela's Ashes Story' | | Contact | Dorothy Meaney The Georgian House & Garden, No. 2 Pery Square, Limerick, Co Limerick Tel: +353 61 314130 Fax: +353 61 310130 Email: georgianhouseandgarden@eircom.net Web Site: www.limerickcivictrust.ie | |
